Rafferty was given a unique opportunity to respond to the construction of the GLA over a four year period. The design by Lord Foster was a particular talking point and many of Rafferty's images were too being reproduced in the national press, even in unlikely places such as Hello magazine. Rafferty was invited to the opening of the GLA by Her Majesty the Queen and his images were the first to be shown at the GLA. The GLA holds a collection of 16 works.
